NOTICE OF ANNUAL ELECTION
FIRE ISLAND PINES FIRE DISTRICT
TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN, COUNTY OF SUFFOLK , NEW YORK
2026 ANNUAL ELECTIONS
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Annual Election of the Fire Island Pines Fire District will take place on July 14th, 2026, between the hours of 5:45 PM and 9:00PM at the Fire Island Pines Fire House, 34 Fire Island Pines Boulevard, Fire Island Pines, NY, 11782 for the purpose of electing the following:
One Commissioner for a five (5) year term commencing on January 1, 2027 and ending on December 31, 2031.
Candidates for the District Office of Commissioner shall file their name in writing no later than June 24, 2026, with the District Secretary at P.O Box 193, Sayville, NY 11782. Such filing must contain the name and address of the candidate (the candidate’s legal residence, not a P.O.Box), the office sought, and must be signed by the candidate.
Pursuant to the Town Law of the State of New York, only those persons registered to vote with the Suffolk County Board of Elections and who have resided within the Fire Island Pines Fire District for at least thirty (30) days immediately preceding the election shall be eligible to vote at such election.

FIRE ISLAND PINES FIRE DISTRICT, IN THE
TOWN OF BROOKHA VEN,
SUFFOLK COUNTY , NEW YORK
JULY 28, 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to the resolution duly adopted by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Fire Island Pines Fire District, in the Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York, a Special Election of the qualified voters of said Fire District on July 28, 2026, at 5:45 P.M. (Prevailing Time) and the polls shall remain open until 9:00 P.M. (Prevailing Time) or as much longer as may be necessary to enable the voters then present to cast their votes. The voting shall be at the Firehouse located at 34 Fire Island Boulevard, Fire Island Pines, New York.
The voting shall be upon the following Proposition:
PROPOSITION
Shall the bond resolution of the Fire Island Pines Fire District, in the Town of
Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York, entitled:
BOND RESOLUTION OF THE FIRE ISLAND PINES FIRE DISTRICT, IN THE TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN, SUFFOLK COUNTY , NEW YORK, ADOPTED JUNE 19, 2026, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS IN A PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $3,000,000 TO FINANCE THE PARTIAL DEMOLITION OF THE EXISTING FIREHOUSE, CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW FIREHOUSE, AND CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS TO THE REMAINING STRUCTURE; STATING THE ESTIMATED MAXIMUM COST THEREOF IS $3,000,000; APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT FOR SUCH PURPOSE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL OF SAID BONDS AND THE INTEREST THEREON AS THE SAME BECOME DUE AND PAYABLE ,” be approved?
All residents of the Fire District who were duly registered to vote with the Suffolk County Board of Elections at least 30 days prior to the date of the Special Election shall be eligible to vote at said Special Election.
